DESTRUCTION / RECONSTRUCTION / DRAWINGS / 2010, 2009 and earlier

I have worked for a long time on abstract drawings in various media to incorporate full or partial representational imagery. Initially, a visual diary of forms is assembled from various sources pertaining to my life. As these may change over time, they encompass elements of organic or inorganic shapes (biological, anatomical, outside environmental, or man-made, mechanical, architectural, geometric, and inside environmental). There is texture and mark-making and erasures. I am interested in a process of continuous transformation of form by various drawing systems of fragmentation, distortion, spatial contradiction, destruction and reconstruction. In the working process hitherto unplanned shapes tend to emerge, leading to new directions. I want certain forms still object related and within the complexity of the work, making them not look like anything specific or known and out of context completely, deobjectified or alienated.
